East Ridge Trail

View west-northwest along the clear cut section of the property, near the trail head. You can barely make out the thinned out trail along the center of the photo.

View east-northeast, near the trail head. This photo is taken from the same site as the photo above, but facing up the trail rather than down it. Again, you can barely make out the thinned out trail along the center of the photo.

View north just before the trail exits the logged area and enters the trees on the eastern edge of the property. Below you can see the Forest Service road. In the lower left of the photo you can see the quality of the trail -- barely more than a thin worn out spot in the walk.

View west along the ridgeline, on the east side of the trail. Note how the trail broadens considerably along the top of the ridgeline, and how the ridge affords alpine views in many directions. The trail is partially shaded by some older pines, and there's evidence of deer and elk coming through it.

View east along the ridgeline, on the east side of the trail. This section of trail is well worn by mountain bikers (presumably) and elk/deer.

One of two points along the ridge where you have to decide whether to scramble up over some exposed rock (which can be dusty and slippery) or around beneath the rock and connect up to the trail later. In this case, you can go to the left of this large rock and connect up.

After climbing up the rock, you are treated to a southward view down the valley that highway 97 runs through. The ridgelines in the distance lead up to Miller Peak and the Three Brothers peaks.

Looking in the other direction, you can look out across the property to the northern ridgeline. There are some very interesting rock formations to go and explore over there someday! The property comes about halfway up that ridgeline, so much of what is captured in this picture is part of the property. Beyond it is Forest Service land.
